Teacher Spotlight - Karissa Urdahl
Hi Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen Community!

My name is Karissa Urdahl, this is my 3rd year as a part of the RMAE family and I have loved every minute of it! I teach 2nd grade, the best grade in the whole world. Teaching has been my passion since I was very young and I absolutely love coming to work every day to build relationships with my students and learn all about them! The better I know them as unique individuals, the better I can understand them as learners.

My favorite subjects to teach are Science and Social Studies because there are so many fun opportunities for hands-on learning! These subjects also provide lots of chances for students to make personal connections to the topics we discuss and even teach their peers and me a few things! I believe getting students excited about what they are learning in class is the best way to foster lifelong learning. 

I also love teaching reading, writing, and math! Especially when I am able to help students make real world connections to the skills we are working on.

In my personal time, I am an early bird and enjoy taking early morning walks with my dog, Bubba. I also love traveling and exploring new places with my fiance, Zack. In addition, I am currently planning my wedding for the upcoming summer and am very excited to marry the love of my life!

K-12 enrollment for the upcoming 2023-24 school year is NOW OPEN. All RMAE families should use our online enrollment system, EnrollJeffco, to indicate where their student(s) will attend school next year. Including telling us that your student will return to RMAE.

Be an EHS Pom For A Day!
The Evergreen High School VarsityPoms are hosting their annual Junior Poms Clinic on Jan. 27 from 4pm - 8pm at EHS. This is one of the team's most popular and successful events that includes dinner and a halftime performance!
