RMAE’s New Website – We are up and running - Check it out – www.RMAE.org!  Our new Jeffco supported website is now ADA compliant, which means people with disabilities will have equal access to our website through specialized screen readers.

A Request to our RMAE Community – Our new website is one of our most valuable marketing tools and is often the first source that prospective parents encounter when searching for information about schools in Evergreen.  We would like to maximize it’s marketing effectiveness to those visiting our website.   Here’s where we could use your help:  If you are as excited about RMAE as we are, please take a few minutes to jot down what you love about our school:  the more specific, the better.   If you would like to include a photo of you and or your family, it can make it more impactful.  Please send your testimonial to [email protected] or [email protected]. Thank you!

October Count – This year’s October Count attendance window is September 25th through October 6th with the actual count date being October 2nd.    As most of you are aware, the October Count determines our funding for the school year.  It is very important that your student has consistent attendance during our attendance window.  For student’s transferring into RMAE, they must be in attendance on October 2nd to be counted for funding.

Teacher Spotlight
Lisa Best Photo
Lisa Best - Physical Education Teacher - I’m so excited to be teaching at RMAE this year. My husband, Josh, and I have two kids. Our son, Josiah is in 6th grade and our daughter, Jaden is in 7th grade here at RMAE. I enjoy any and all outdoor pursuits in the mountains and water. I also enjoy traveling and exploring to new places. I have worked with children for sixteen years as a nutritionist, personal trainer, and wellness coach. My intention as the physical education teacher is to educate our students on how to take responsibility for their mental, emotional, and physical health. I believe that we can enhance the health of our school from the inside-out, when we focus on ourselves. Each week I submit a health tip in our school newsletter. Check it out!

Preschool Elective Photo
Elective of the Week – This year's preschool elective is off to a great start! In this elective, middle school students plan lessons and then implement activities with the preschoolers at TLC of Evergreen. This week, the middle school students created "All About Me" pages to share with their preschool buddies and then helped the little ones create life-size versions of themselves. We're excited about the teaching and learning  opportunities for all the students!

Middle School Art Spotlightby Brinda Pumphrey – This is my 7th year teaching middle school art at RMAE and I love it!  A few words that describe middle school art are: challenging, fun, creative, and exciting. My goal is for students to find and develop their own artistic “voice”.   Continue Reading

WEEKLY HEALTH TIP - By: Mrs. Best/P.E. Teacher - Health Tip #3
During my professional career as a wellness coach, personal trainer, and nutritionist, I worked alongside a Pediatrician. We worked together to help underweight and overweight children learn healthy eating and wellness choices to maintain a healthy weight for their age and height. The main culprit that caused their nutritional imbalances was sugar. High sugar foods and drinks! If a child receives nutrient dense whole foods, they will not crave these high sugar foods or drinks because their bodies are receiving all of the nutrients it needs to maintain proper physical well being.
GOAL: Limit your child’s intake to ONLY 3 servings of high sugar foods or drinks PER WEEK. This is true moderation.
Example: 1 gatorade,1 package of gummy snacks, 1 serving of ice cream for the entire week. All other meals consist of fruit, vegetables, lean proteins, low-fat dairy, whole grains, and water.
