When times get tough, we band together and build reading forts. The eighth graders did some project based learning to create a massive fort with tunnels to entertain kindergarten.

A message from the Principal

Dear RMAE families,

I hope this finds everyone in a good place given the circumstances we are all dealing with.  I appreciate you taking a few minutes to receive an update on RMAE’s remote learning plan.

Your teachers met remotely today to learn, collaborate, and plan.  We are doing our best to accommodate the different needs and tech comfort levels of grades kinder through 8th while providing organizational consistency for you.  Everyone will be using Zoom as the video conferencing, live instruction, and group discussion platform.  This is web based so there is no need to download an app.  Classes will be utilizing google classroom as the main platform for assigning work.  In 4th – 8th grades work will be submitted through google classroom.  The primary grades will be using SeeSaw for assignment submission.  The rationale for the two platforms is to accommodate for the age and ability differences.  You will be receiving a message from your teacher with specific information on your child’s class, log ins, etc.  At times it may feel that we are over communicating.  However, I’d rather that feedback than the opposite.  Throughout this process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher with questions.

This is new to all of us and we’ve all had minimal time to assimilate to this new reality.  Yet, your teachers have done a phenomenal job making this adjustment.  There will be challenges but know we will work together to problem solve.  Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we transition into unchartered waters.

Stay safe and healthy.

Your Proud Principal,

Dr. Ann Hudson

Health Department Update

Coronavirus - Please refer to the district’s coronavirus information page  as new information becomes available from public health resources, including the CDC.   RMAE will continue to follow the district's direction as they have been coordinating with local public health agencies as we monitor the global outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), keeping in close contact with Jeffco Public Health Department (JCPH) and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) on this subject.
RMAE is following all protocol to keep the school as sanitized as possible.  Teachers are wiping down classroom surfaces at the end of each day.  In addition, the nightly cleaning crew is disinfecting all common areas outside of the classroom.  We have a professional cleaning crew scheduled over spring break to do a school wide deep clean.  Thank you for being considerate of everyone's health and keeping sick children at home.
