A Message From the Principal
Dear RMAE families,

A huge shout out to all the families who helped prepare our campus for our students! Everyone working together for our students, it is one of the many things I love about our school community.

Today’s welcome back social was incredible! We all thoroughly enjoyed all the positive energy with having our students and families on campus. We can’t wait for school to officially start tomorrow.

As you plan your drop off, keep in mind students are supervised starting at 7:30am. Please use Rocky Road, the first turn behind the main building and pull all the way to the end. Staff will be there to help your child. To avoid cars getting backed up, we ask for you to remain in your car. If you feel you’ll need extra time, please park.

For picking up, it is imperative you do not arrive prior to your oldest child’s release time. For example, if your oldest child is in 4 th grade, do not arrive prior to 3:05. If you do, you’ll be asked to leave the pickup line and park. This is for everyone safety and avoids a car line that is backed up beyond our property.

Thank you again for sharing your amazing children with us!
Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Ann Hudson

A message from the parent lunch committee :

Hi parents - we hope everyone had a great summer. The parent committee spent last spring researching new lunch program options that met the needs of parents (based on the survey) and made sense for the school operationally. Unfortunately, we weren't able to secure an option for the upcoming school year. The primary roadblock was the limited number of vendors that would service our mountain-area school within a reasonable budget for parents, especially with staffing shortages and food prices being what they are currently. We'll continue to pursue any new ideas that the committee or parents may have and will update parents if new opportunities for a school lunch program arise.

Just a reminder that PTO fundraisers are separate from the school lunch program discussed above and will be offered similar to last year (Jimmy John's + Dominos).
Family Summary of August 11 Board Meeting

Welcome Back Grizzlies!  The August 11 Board Meeting was productive.  We started the meeting by holding one of many strategic sessions in which we look to continue to do even more to help us achieve our strategic goals. Tom McMillen, our JeffCo Charter School Representative graciously provided his time during that session.  We are also pleased to share that we have officially approved our 5-year charter contract with JeffCo.  As always, the board meeting schedule, meeting agenda, and meeting minutes are posted on our website.  We encourage families and faculty to join these meetings in the newly open Den and encourage participation during public comment.  You can contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions about the board or our meetings.

Speaking of participating in Board meetings, we have one open Board position. The Board is the governing entity of RMAE, and meets at least monthly to discuss budgeting, achieving academic standards, strategic planning, and campus improvements as we continue to move the vision and mission forward. While all parents are welcome to submit their names for candidacy, the Board is particularly interested in candidates with previous involvement in RMAE committees and experience across Human Resources or fundraising/capital campaigns.

If you have interest, please submit a brief letter of intent by this Thursday, August 25th describing your background and outlining what you believe you can offer the school through Board service. The letter may be sent to Board Secretary Janelle Herrera at [email protected]. Once the letters are compiled and reviewed, candidates will join the board meeting on the evening of September 8th in which the board will appoint a candidate.

In addition, the Board has various committees you can participate which include marketing, fundraising, school accountability, or facilities. If you are interested in joining one of these committees please email Board President Scott Jones at [email protected]..

We look forward to a wonderful 2022 – 2023 school year.
