The Environment Sustainability and Policy Making Elective (ESPME) has recently been trying to figure out how single-use plastics and idling your car can impact the environment. The elective has been collecting all the one-use plastic from the lunchroom, and we have been overwhelmed by the amount  that we have collected! Did you know that 500,000,000,000 lbs of plastic gets buried and can release harmful pollutants into the Earth? Or that idling your car for a long time can be so bad for you as smoking a cigarette? Were looking for helpers in RMAE, and you can by doing the following:

  • Not idling your car at pick up; you save fuel, money, and the environment.

  • Using little to no single-use plastics such as ziploc bags.

  • Using reusable tupperware and bags.

  • Bringing your plastic bags to be recycled at the nearest Safeway or King Soopers.

  • Recycle anything you can like paper bags.

  • Having students carpool to save gas and energy.

Celebration of the Arts - Come enjoy an evening appreciating art, music, creative kid energy, and hard work.  We will have an art show and music performance all brought to you by RMAE Middle School kids.

We need some help to make this celebration a success, so go to the Sign Up Genius link to volunteer.  Please take a minute and see if you can add your time, energy, and support.
