A note from Mr Dunbar:

Dear RMAE Families and Community,

It seems perfectly fitting that the Core Virtue of November is Gratitude. As we head towards Thanksgiving, I’ve been reflecting on the tremendous amount I have to be grateful for as a teacher and a member of the RMAE community. More specifically, I am incredibly appreciative of all of the parents and families who have donated tools and materials to RMAE’s Woodworking Program. The generosity and support I have received over the past month have been truly astounding. Teaching woodworking at RMAE is something I am especially passionate about and I am thankful for the large number of donations that will continue to help this program grow. Have a wonderful holiday season!

With Thanks,

-Ian Dunbar-

Teacher Spotlight - Brenda Park
Hello - My name is Brenda Park, and you will find me teaching inquisitive 1st graders at our school! This is my first year at RMAE and I thoroughly enjoy working with the students, their families and the staff. I love seeing the students engaged in their learning and expanding their learning.

I grew up in South Dakota and have lived in Minnesota, as well as one-year in Switzerland, but I call Colorado my home. I have a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University in finance and marketing, which led to my first career in the banking industry before I made the switch to education. I am currently in the very final steps of obtaining my master’s degree in elementary education from Regis University and will graduate in a couple of weeks.

My husband and I have four children ranging from 5th grade to high school senior. In my spare time, I enjoy watching my children do what they love most, whether it be sports or theater. I also spend my time reading, biking, skiing and playing tennis.

The RMAE Board would like to express our deepest gratitude for all who donated to the Annual Giving Campaign! To date, over $82,000 has been pledged to support RMAE students and staff during this current school year. These funds are crucial to giving our students the best possible opportunities at RMAE!
Please do not forget to email the attendance line [email protected] when your student will be absent from school.

If you want to advise us of a pre-arranged absence for a future date like a trip- Please fill out the pre-arranged absence form available on our website.
Thank you for your help!

A note from the Cary Family:

To our RMAE family,
We would like to thank all of you for your continued love and support through Wesley's journey. As some of you have seen, Wesley is transitioning back into school, and he has loved every minute of it. We still have a road ahead, however seeing his friends, teachers, and supporters has made this transition heartwarming for our family. Thank you all for keeping us in your prayers and for all your beautiful children asking about Wesley every time we saw them over the past year. We love and appreciate all of you as our journey continues on.

Sincerely,
The Cary Family

RMAE is participating in an Acts of Kindness Challenge for the month of November.  Each day there will be a unique act of kindness that all students and staff will be encouraged to do.  We would love for everyone to participate at home as well! Kindness has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy and compassion, and improve mood. Kindness can also increase your sense of connectivity with others.

This week our acts of kindness will include: Holding the door open for someone, helping someone clean up their mess, writing a positive note for someone and giving a compliment.  Feel free to ask your child what the challenge was each day and how they did an act of kindness for someone.
Come celebrate our new DEN and our amazing Middle School kids by attending the MIDDLE SCHOOL HANDBELL PERFORMANCE

Family Summary of the November Board Meeting
The board thanks all of the families who participated in Annual Giving. We achieved our financial goal with $82,000 in donations but fell short of our participation goal. We strive for 100% participation, even if families can only donate $5 as it helps in the classroom and helps with our Charter renewals with the district by showing family support.  If you intended to donate, but haven't yet, you still can by clicking here.

RMAE's annual budget was finalized and the final touches on The Den were discussed.
