A Message from the Principal

Hello RMAE families,

We are extremely appreciative of all you do to support your child(ren) and RMAE.  Our staff is beyond grateful for your thoughtfulness in the Giving Apple.  We celebrated your generosity last Friday at a school wide assembly that our student council organized and led.  I am sharing a small sampling of comments from staff.  If I shared them all, our newsletter would never end!

I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful donations to our classrooms- Your students will be having an amazing year, due to your generosity! – Ms. Gordon

Thanks to all for the generous support of Middle School Science with everything from living microbes for viewing under the microscope, enhancing biological classification to mud-dwelling microbes capable of generating clean energy to power a light bulb.  You are making a difference by providing more hands-on Science activities in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics! - Tony Bryant and all of our RMAE STEM Students

The Home Depot gift card was used to build terrariums! The blackout curtains help students see the screen, and the gift cards help to provide new and exciting books for students. Yay! – Betsy O’Connor

Thank you for generously providing Amazon gift cards for 5th grade.  Your thoughtfulness and continued support is greatly appreciated! – Carrie Weiker

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the outpour of support with your generous donations/items given though the Giving Apple campaign.  I am EXTREMELY grateful and overwhelmed with appreciation!  YOU made our 2nd grade classroom shine!!! – Anna Grose

Thank you SOOO much to everyone who donated items to our classroom!! We are so lucky to have such amazing families here at RMAE!  These gifts will enrich our classroom with the supplies necessary to help your children learn and grow!  Your donations are greatly appreciated!! -Jaye Scheid

I want to thank all of you.  As the Facility Manager I wear many hats, taking pride in the health and safety of our environment.  As a job I would not be able to do it alone. From picking up the cones at the end of the day, sweeping mulch, shoveling snow, Community Service/Volunteer Day, PTO and especially the Giving Apple. Thank you for all you do.  It truly takes a village. – Todd Wellman

There were many more notes of appreciation.  We are fortunate to be a part of a wonderful school community!

Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Ann Hudson

Classroom News

4th Grade - Fourth grade is getting ready for Ancient China day.  They are building screens to create paper on a screen as they did in Ancient China. This activity also taught students how much goes into making paper that we use everyday.

7th Grade - Earlier this week, in seventh grade we had a tea and reading day. Students brought mugs and tea, I supplied the hot water. We put on the Netflix fire place and got to work reading! It was a relaxing and productive way to spend a Monday morning.  Students are required to read a least one book of their own choosing every quarter.  This was time for them to get caught up on reading before we start our Dr. Jekyll and Hyde unit.

Gardening Elective - We made terrariums today to house succulents! Students brought in glass jars and gardening provided the rocks, soil, and succulents (funding provided by the generous donor of the Home Depot gift card). After planting and assembling, students were then able to decorate their jars with all kinds of fun items. It was a great day!
