News from the Principal

Hello RMAE Families,

It’s that time of year where families who want to join our amazing school community complete an enrollment application for next year.  Word is getting out and we’ve had many come visit and learn more about us.  Applications turned in by January 31st have priority, so please remind your friends and neighbors to get theirs turned in before slots are full.  As we go through this process we will stay true to our priorities and charter, by keeping our class sizes small which allows us to focus on each individual student.  Thank you for continuing to spread the word about all of the benefits of being at RMAE!

Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Ann Hudson

      RMAE Happenings

Prospective Parents Information Night - January 25th - 5:30 to 6:30 pm - Once again, we ask you to pass this information on to your friends and neighbors who may be interested in possible enrollment in the fall.  Thank you!

First Round Choice Enrollment Application Deadline - January 31st - Prospective student enrollment applications should be submitted by this deadline for the best chance to secure enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year.  Remind your friends and neighbors.

Morning Student Drop-Off Protocol Reminder - All picking-up and dropping-off of students is to be done in the drive-way circle.  Please do not drop off or pick-up your students from the lower parking lot.   Using the lower parking area as a drop off creates back-ups in both directions as cars attempt to turn around on the street.  If everyone follows these guidelines, we can all enjoy a smoother and quicker arrival/departure. Your help and consideration is very much appreciated.

ï‚· Pull up in the right lane as far forward as you can.
ï‚· Drop-Off only in the designated Drop-Off / Pick-Up area (between the cones).
ï‚· Use the inside (left) lane only for exiting after you Drop-Off.
ï‚· No unloading from the inside lane; curbside drop-off only.
ï‚· Do not leave your car; there are adults on duty to help with doors if needed.
ï‚· NO CELL PHONES
ï‚· Please do not drop-off in the first part of the circle as it forces back-up onto the street.

Teacher Spotlight - Hello families! My name is Emily Johnson and I'm the 7/8 social studies teacher. This is my 5th year at RMAE and what I love most is the strong community and the talented, engaged students!  It's been so fun to have high schoolers come back to visit and share with me how well middle school at RMAE prepared them! When I'm not teaching, my husband and I love to travel and are headed to France during Spring Break!  We also love to road trip around the U.S. with our black lab and soak in the outdoors.

Elective of the Week - This quarter students in the photography elective are practicing varying photography techniques, from macro and micro images to portraits, using filters, and framing their work. We hope to have an art show towards the end of the quarter to showcase the students' work!
