Physical Education - Best (K - 8th)

Physical Education - by Lisa Best

Our Physical Education program encompasses all areas of wellness and health. Every class focuses on teaching our students how to take responsibility for their own physical, mental, and emotional well being. The focus of RMAE's Physical Education Program is to provide activities, assessments, and knowledge throughout the school year that allows every student to progress in four areas: Motor Skill Development, Anatomical Basis of Movement, Social Development, and Energy Balance. Go to the Curriculum page for further details.

In the beginning and end of the year, 3rd-8th grade undergo a fitness assessment. The assessment tests strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness.

Motor skill development is taught through a variety of sports and games. Such as, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, softball, kickball, basketball, basic gymnastics, badminton, snowshoeing, team building games, and many tag games.

Each class is taught proper nutrition and the importance of making healthy choices within their diet, as well as, practical core virtue lessons which guide the students in taking responsibility for the way they treat themselves and others.

Our amazing middle-school students learn the Thriller Flash mob dance and perform together during our community's Trunk or Treat.

Field Day  (k-5th grade) and Olympics (6th-8th grade) is held in May to celebrate the culmination of another healthy and productive year!
