Classroom News

7th graders embarked on an exploration of the history of the microscope and its impact on the Science of Microbiology.  Their first assignment – collect some pond water!  They were instructed on how and where to seek out and collect wild water samples from the foothills environment of the Evergreen, Colorado vicinity.

The Student Art Contest winner is Emmie Weiker!!  Her artwork will be featured on the cover of the 2019-2020 Directory!

Eighth grade students had the opportunity to go outside and learn about Abstract Expressionism through experience. Students were instructed to use a maximum of three colors and to choose colors that somehow expressed themselves or their feelings. Students dripped, splattered, or brushed the paint onto their papers.

In the perspective, the preschoolers came up to RMAE to collect items as they are studying the sense of touch. They walked around campus collecting items in describing them. The next step was glueing the objects onto paper and writing adjectives describing the feel of the items.

Mrs Grose's Class had Pajama Day last week!

Mr. Deeter  (Mrs. Deeter's Husband) came and spoke to her 5th grade class about being a professional writer and shared with them a slide show from all the places he had visited.  He also talked about the writing process, and how many drafts it takes to create a final article.

Thank you to all of the RMAE Family Members that donated to the Giving Apple. Gifts were presented to teachers at Friday's Assembly.

Westin, the Kangaroo visited Elementary Students on Friday!!!

A Message from the Principal

Hello RMAE Families,

It’s officially the fall season!  The leaves soon will be changing, we’re in the routine of school, and conferences are right around the corner.  Our student/parent conferences are on October 9th from 4 – 8pm and October 10th from 1 – 6pm.  You will be receiving a sign up from your child’s teacher and there are links in this newsletter.

A portion of the conferences will be student led.  Your child will share goals, challenges, successes, and what skills are the current focus and why.  This process will give students an opportunity to show off what they’ve learned and also help them become more invested in their learning process.  In addition to the student portion, you will have individual time with the teacher.  Please plan to bring your student with you to conferences.  We look forward to seeing you!

Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Ann Hudson
