Fine Arts at RMAE

 

Middle School Theater - The Wizard of Oz - As the play practices and dress rehearsals ramp up, this year's middle school production promises to be very entertaining and fun!  Students have been working diligently on perfecting their performances.  Support our afterschool theater program, Mountain Youth Musicals, by purchasing your tickets today and joining us at Evergreen's Center Stage Theater, Friday, April 12th and two show times on Saturday, April 13th (more information in RMAE Reminders below).

The Elementary Art Department is pleased to announce that our largest collection of student artwork for the year will be displayed on the main wall of the Jefferson County Public Library (Evergreen) for the month of April.  This exhibit showcases over 23 projects and 44 artists.  Congratulations to the following artists who are participating in this year's show:

The Middle School Art Department is pleased to congratulate Jaden Best, Ariya Sells, Mollie Beach, Shaeli Silverstone, and Charlee Polivka for having artwork accepted into the Jefferson Schools Foundation Middle School Art Exhibition at Lakewood Cultural Center from April 10 - May 4.  There will be an artist reception on April 25 from 5 - 7 PM.  The Lakewood Cultural Center is located at 470 S. Allison Parkway in Lakewood near Wadsworth and Alameda Ave.

 

 

RMAE Happenings 

 

 

Last Movie Night this School Year with TeachersThursday, April 18th3-5pm - Login to your AtoZ Connect account to purchase movie night for your student(s).  Students will no longer be able to switch to a movie other than the one they are signed up for.  

We are offering five movie choices:

Dunbar - Ready Player One
Gordon - The Adventures of Milo and Otis
Vickery - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Weiker - Ralph Breaks the Internet
Johnson - Bumblebee 

Students attending movie night may wear PJ's to school and bring a pillow, blanket, and a stuffed animal.  Cost is $10/child which includes:  movie, bottled water, popcorn and fruit snacks. Go to AtoZ Connect to sign-up and purchase tickets. 

 


 

Library Update - The last day for class visits to the RMAE library will be Friday, May 3.  Please ensure your student(s) returns his or her books to the Library by May 3rd.

Thank you to all families who expressed interest in donating your gently used books.  Donations may be dropped off in the library only between May 6 and May 17.  Please help your fellow parent volunteers who run the library by limiting your donations to school-age appropriate books in good condition.  Please do not donate other media besides books, adult level content, or books in disrepair.  Questions?  Contact Jamie Richards at [email protected].

 


 

Class Group Photos will be taken next Tuesday, April 16th.  Order information will be sent out next week.  Uniforms are required for all class photos.

8th Grade Please Note - Individual 8th-grade graduation photos will also be taken that day. These students may bring free dress clothing to change into briefly for pictures only.

King Soopers Fundraiser - No More Gift Cards!  As of April 1, King Soopers has launched a new Community Rewards Program.  No longer will you need to reload gift cards to earn money for RMAE – all you need to do is link your loyalty card to RMAE and shop with King Soopers -- just like you always do!

Link Your Sooper Card - If you already have a King Soopers rewards card, you can enroll via the King Soopers website or via the King Soopers mobile app.  If you do not yet have a King Soopers rewards card, they are available at the customer service desk at any King Soopers or City Market.

Middle School Olympics 2019 (field day)Thursday, May 2, 2019 -  Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be competing in 6 sporting events:  football, soccer, Newcomb ball, volleyball, basketball, and running relay.  Come volunteer and see who goes home with gold, silver, and bronze...   Click on the link below to signup.

RMAE's Community Service Day - Friday, April 26th 

Volunteers Needed - We need coordinators to help teachers finalize ideas for projects for this day and to structure a full day devoted to their investigations.  The students, the teachers, and RMAE would appreciate your help.   Please contact your classroom coordinators or Jamie Brand at either [email protected] or (303) 919-1969 to volunteer.  Thank you!

 


 

RMAE Carnival - Friday, May 3,  5:30 to 7:00 pm - Mark your calendars for this fun event. Come one, Come all!  Family fun!  Student-built and run carnival booths, hotdogs, and popcorn for purchase, raffle prizes, including 4 tickets to a Garth Brooks concert and more!  Students are welcome to bring their friends from other schools.  Each grade is sponsoring an activity, so check with your Classroom Coordinator for volunteer opportunities.

 


 

Please Do Not Park in our Handicap Parking Spots - We realize our parking lot can be challenging, especially at drop-off and pick-up times.  However, we ask that parents not pull into our designated handicap parking spots, either temporarily or parking unless you have a handicap tag.  Please be mindful of the message parking in these spots sends to our students.

 

 

Afterschool Activities 

 

A New Yoga Opportunity - Beginning Tuesdays, April 23rd, 3-4 pm - ages 6-12.  This is a relaxing way to end the school day.  Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an

SCREENAGERS:  Growing Up in The Digital Age - Monday, April 29th, 7:00 pm in the Evergreen High School auditorium.  SCREENAGERS is the first feature documentary to explore the impact of screen technology on kids and offer parents and families proven solutions that work. What started out as a personal story for one has grown into a national movement, helping millions of teens and their families navigate growing up in a world with instant access to screens. This movie is appropriate for children ages 10 and up and parent discussion guides will be provided at the event.
