News from the Principal

Hello RMAE families,

Since our charter was founded in 2001, RMAE has been a part of thousands of lives. Our alumni are very proud of the education and experience they received here and are highly successful people. Some have graduated college and landed their dream job, others are currently continuing their education at a prestigious University, and our more recent graduates are successful high school students. I am very proud to share that one of our alumni, a RMAE 2014 graduate Max Goldenberg, has chosen us to partner with for his Eagle Scout project. The Eagle Scout award is the highest achievement a Scout can earn and only four percent are granted this rank after a lengthy review process.

Max’s project is to educate our community about how to properly retire our US flag. This is quite a big deal, as only the military and the boy scouts have permission to conduct a flag retirement ceremony. This is an opportunity for our Evergreen community to learn about and participate in the process. RMAE’s teachers and Board of Directors are fully supporting Max in this endeavor. A special shout out to Mr. Tony Bryant, Ms. Emily Johnson, Mr. Ian Dunbar, and Ms. Gordon for working with Max on the logistics of this project.

Max will be conducting a flag retirement ceremony on November 10th , Veterans Day, at 4:00 in the circle. We will also be host to a flag depository in our foyer where community members can drop off a flag that meets the criteria for retirement. Our local scouts will then collect the flags and retire them properly. Please mark your calendar for Friday, November 10th to join us after school, experience the ceremony, and support one of our very own and a prospective Eagle Scout, Max Goldenberg.
