RMAE Happenings

 


RMAE Intent to Return & EnrollJeffco
Coming next week!  Look for more details and the link in a school messenger next Monday.  All current RMAE families will need to indicate whether they are returning to RMAE, or choosing a different school within the District, through EnrollJeffco during the First Round Choice Enrollment Period (JAN 22 - FEB 8, 2018).  

 


 

OPEN HOUSE FOR 5th Grade Families - Please Join Us!  Middle School Open House - Thursday, January 24th, 3:15 - 4:30 pm.  We would like to invite our elementary school families, especially those of 5th-grade students, to our Middle School Open House.  Join us and et and mingle with our middle school staff.  Learn more about the opportunities for students that are unique to our middle school.   Please stop by after school on Thursday, January 24th!  See you there!

 


 

Student Council's Canned Food Drive is from January 22nd to February 4st. We are collecting cans and boxes of food to donate to ECHO, Evergreen Christian Outreach. Each classes progress will be charted every day.  Student Council is sponsoring this event.  

The following is the list of grade-level requested items:

K - toilet paper
1 - soup
2 - canned veggies
3 - coffee
4 - canned fruit
5 - tuna
6 - mac and cheese
7 - peanut butter and jelly
8 - pasta and pasta sauce

RMAE Board News

 

We would like to welcome Brian Duncan to the Board!  Brian was elected as a parent representative for a 1.5-year term at last night's Board meeting.  Mike Geiger, previously a parent representative, was elected to the role of Vice President.  

The next Board meeting will be held on Thursday, March 14th at 7:00 pm in the music room next to the technology room in the back of the first building. Everyone is welcome to attend. There is time allotted for public comment at the beginning and at the end of each meeting. After School Activities

 

Young Rembrandts - Begins March 4th, Mondays, 3:00 - 4:10 PM - The season of Spring gives our artists new inspiration and lessons like the Bee Graphic and historical Model T. Every child will draw their lesson in detail and learn new techniques like how to add a little whimsy to our version of Aladdin’s Lamp and some adorable Baby Dragons. Creativity, imagination and whole brain learning are all happening every week.  Sign up today!

FREE baseball clinics that West Jeff Baseball is hosting in local elementary school gyms.   These clinics are for kids ages 4 - 8 and space is limited, so early registration is needed.  Clinic dates, January 28 through February 7th.  West Jeff Baseball Clinic Registration Information Flier

Colorado School of Mines Spring Break Camps - These camps, designed for those who entered 1st through 6th grade in Fall 2018, encourage children to be innovative and use creative problem-solving by engaging them in fun, hands-on activities.  The Academies for Young Minds program this spring offers camps focused on biology, geology, chemistry, and robotics.   Mines Spring Break Camp Registration Information Link

 


 

Wait Until 8th - Interested in learning more about the ''Wait Until 8th' movement in Evergreen?  The ''Wait Until 8th' movement is a national one, which empowers parents to rally together to delay giving children a smartphone until at least 8th grade.  Stop by for one of their quarterly meetings at Bergen Meadow Elementary gym on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. for an interactive speaker presentation titled, "Hijacking the Brain:  Electronic Gaming and Smart Phones" by Craig A. Knippenberg, LCSW. M.Div.  Parents and kids ages 9 and up are invited to attend this 60-minute interactive experience where they will learn how games and electronics affect their brains.  

For parents who may be coming solo or those who would like to stay after, Craig will be offering a 30-minute Q&A opportunity as well.

The Mountain Backpack Program is putting supplies in place to support families affected by the government shutdown.  If you know of  families who are affected by it - either their job itself or a business dependent on the government (restaurant, contractor, etc.) - and they need help with food, groceries, gas, etc. please let them know the Mountain Backpack Program, ECHO, and the Food Bank of the Rockies are available to help.
