Message from the Principal

Hello RMAE Families,

Thank you for attending our back to school nights this week.  We are truly honored you have entrusted your child’s education with us!  We take a team approach to best support your child so please don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers throughout the year.  Our staff contact information is on our website under “About RMAE” then “Faculty and Staff.”

We appreciate everyone adhering to our drop off and pick up policy.  As a reminder, all students are to be dropped off and picked up in the circle where we have a sidewalk and supervision.  It helps us keep all of our students safe.  To expedite our pickup, we will be giving each family a placard to put on your dashboard.  We are asking you to print in large letters the name(s) and grade(s).  This will be small enough to fit in your glove compartment when you aren’t picking up.  We value your time and appreciate you supporting this effort!

Your proud Principal,
Dr. Ann Hudson

4th Grade - In fourth grade we are learning about map reading skills.  Students made construction dough and created birds eye view and side views of elevation maps with coordinates, map keys and legends.

5th Grade - Fifth grade reading made "thought webs" to explain what they learned about our theme of the week:  How do people survive in the wilderness?

7th Grade -  We’re fully into our short story unit. This week, students acted out “The Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe.  They practiced their lines and directing skills earlier in the week for their final performance on Friday.

Preschool Elective - During our first preschool elective, the middle schoolers supported the preschool students in creating a life size version of themselves. They worked on fine motor skills like cutting, coloring, and measuring string for hair.

RMAE Happenings

Student Picture Day - Wednesday, September 12th - Local photographers Annie Coppock and Tammie McCarl are partnering with RMAE for student pictures and professional photography services!  All students will have their photographs taken during school as usual and dress code is required.  The photographs will be taken outdoors and parents will have a selection of images to choose from and purchase if desired.  Annie and Tammie’s approach to school portraits is anything but traditional.  They work with each child to bring out their unique personality, their real smile, and their genuine emotion.  Images may be purchased ala carte, in cost-savings packages, and in print or digital format.  A price sheet will be distributed after picture day with the link to preview the photos.

RMAE Sibling Photos Mini-Sessions - September 12th before and after school - This photography team is also offering Mini-Sessions for siblings at no charge.  Sessions will be held before and after school on student picture day, so that parents have the option to have photographs with all of their kids (non RMAE siblings are welcome).  Free Dress is optional for the shoot, please make sure to allow time for your children to change clothes before/after as necessary.

Emergency Contacts - We are noticing that several families have no emergency contacts listed in Jeffco Connect for their students.   When we are unable to reach a parent regarding their sick or injured child, said child is forced to remain in the clinic, often for hours.  Please check that you have at least one emergency contact listed with their correct contact information in Jeffco Connect.  For login issues, please call the office.
