Principal's Note

Dear RMAE Families,

Researchers have been studying the effects of parent involvement in schools on their children’s academic success for more than 30 years and the results have been consistent.  When parents are involved in their child’s school, their child is more successful in and has a more positive attitude about school.  It also promotes a sense of community that has impacts well beyond academics.  At RMAE, parent volunteering is an important part of our charter.  Our school has a rich history of parent involvement and that is one of the reasons our school is positively set apart from others.

In the next few weeks there are many opportunities to get involved.  Next Friday, April 20th, is our 2nd annual Carnival.  One of the important aspects of the Carnival is the booths are student run.  Our students need your support in making their booth successful.  There is a signup link in this newsletter for 20 minute slots to support your child.   Only 20 minutes!  Our next big event is our annual Community Service Day on April 26th.  We have parents who have volunteered to lead each grade level’s activities and they need your help!  Both of these events have volunteer opportunities both on and off campus.   Get involved, earn time towards your families’ required volunteer hours, support our amazing school, and have some fun.  I look forward to seeing you all there!

Your proud Principal,
Dr. Ann Hudson
