RMAE Elementary Art:

Is a Core Knowledge subject .  Please follow along with the books, “What your Child  Needs to Know in… by E. D. Hirsch)

Is integrated with homeroom topics .  For example, we will illustrate Charlotte’s Web in the art room as they read it in homeroom, and we will study the art and architecture of the Renaissance as they study the culture of the Renaissance .  This is important because it’s been proven that when children draw what they are learning about they retain what they’ve learned much better.

Is rich in art history and art appreciation

Works with the Evergreen community including the Center for the Arts Evergreen, local artists, and Jefferson County Animal Control.  And look for our biggest show of the year on the main wall of the Jefferson County Library (Evergreen branch) next March
