Welcome to your second year of middle school art. The 7th grade art curriculum includes some of my favorite art movements. We will be studying Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism, Abstraction, Surrealism, and Realism. Along the way we will be creating art in some of these styles!

What We Are Up To Now:

Students have been practicing observational drawing. The final project involves drawing three objects from life (not photos) on watercolor paper then using watercolor paint to add color. Students have a choice of objects such as dried leaves, sea shells, objects in the classroom, or they can bring objects of their own to draw.
 
Core Knowledge Curriculum:

We are currently looking at and learning about Post-Impressionism.
