HI Parents,

Just a reminder about sending me an email to verify that your child has completed his/her work for this week. The planner is in their Google Classroom. Any work not yet completed can be done on Monday, our “Ketch-up Day.”  Great job with week 3 of Remote Learning!”

Important Reminders:

  1. Math: We are now doing 2 sections a day. Students will cover the classwork with me on Zoom. If your child misses our Zoom math meeting Tues-Friday 10-10:45 please have them do lessons for the day in their workbook. (“Application/Problem Solving” pages are optional) Homework: odds on both lessons for the day.

  2. Students will need a protractor by April 22 when we begin Chapter 11 Angles. I am hoping this will give you enough time to order one, or add it to a shopping list when you are out without having to make an additional trip out.

  3. Attendance: in order for me to mark your child in attendance for the day I need one of the following. Your child attends a Zoom meeting with me, answers the Attendance Question on Google Classroom, or I receive an email from you about what your child is working on for the day.

  4. Zoom Meeting Expectations: This is a remote classroom and I expect students to behave as they would in my classroom. They don’t leave unless they raise their hand and ask. (If their system shuts down, re enter. Wait patiently doing classwork until admitted.) Put away all distractions and be prepared to work and answer questions. ( no playing with other things,  pets, siblings, or other behaviors that distract others. We will have breaks to share in between sessions just like when we take a brain break in class.) Finally, screens must have video on and mute microphones unless asked otherwise. Thank you for helping to reinforce a respectful learning environment for our class time.

  5. Google Classroom: I respond carefully to everyone with specific comments so students could revise their stories before printing. It appears that it is not easy to find the comments I sent. Here are some steps that hopefully will help your child see my comment to their stories before printing and publishing:

    1. 1.) Click on Classwork

    2. 2.) at top click "View Your Work"

    3. 3.) Click "Return with Grade ( on the left)

    4. 4.) Click assignment ( Young Writers' Story)

    5. 5.) Go into google  doc to see additional comments writte

* I wish I had  my students all close to me to help the way I would have in class. I am so proud of what they all did!

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Easter!
