A Message from the Principal

Dear RMAE families,

This certainly has been an out of the ordinary week for all of us.  It is a clear reminder of why we conduct drills throughout the year.  It can be easy to get complacent and from a student’s perspective think it doesn’t matter since it is only a drill.  Fortunately, on Tuesday our students handled the lockout extremely well, knew what to do, and followed the expectations.

Providing a safe and secure environment for our school community is of utmost importance.  As a result, we are strengthening our entrance procedures.  Before buzzing you in, we will ask you to state your name and how we can help.

Along those lines, I shared a few months ago about our security upgrades planned this summer.   I want to thank you again for your support of 5B which has provided us the opportunity to install video surveillance, upgrade building access, replace glass exterior doors, upgrade our PA system and upgrade our fire alarm system.  This will all be complete before the students return in August.

Thank you for your continued support.

Your Proud Principal,

Dr. Ann Hudson

Musical Instrument Interest Survey - We are exploring the possibility of expanding our music programs for the 2019-2020 school year.  Does your student have a hidden desire to learn to play a new instrument?  Maybe they are already an accomplished player but looking for an additional outlet to practice and perform in a larger group.  Please take a moment, along with your student, to complete the Musical Instrument Interest Survey linked below to give us an idea of the interest level at RMAE.  Thank you!

We are currently accepting applications for the open seats.  Our school needs leaders that are passionate about our school and want to contribute their time, expertise and ideas to help us provide the best educational experience for our kids.  This is an opportunity to help guide our great school, leverage your leadership skills, and book some volunteer hours!  If interested, please forward your letter of intent including, 'why are you interested and what do you have to offer?' to the RMAE Board Selection Committee, in care of Dr. Ann Hudson, [email protected]
